ParticipantIs’nt it great that they have recovered those stolen masterpieces from Russborough House. Would they please insert a proper alarm system and employ a few permanent security guards to protect the property in future.
See attached the wonderful copy of Titian’s masterpiece of Christ by Lanfranko and a beautiful study of a dog by Sir Edwin Landseer, which were recovered. - January 15, 2003 at 10:10 am #723719

ParticipantOnly kidding regarding the paintings folks ….those were paintings I did when I was an impoverished artist.
The Christ painting is a copy of Titian’s in the National Gallery, Dublin, the dog is painted from a photograph. - January 17, 2003 at 4:57 pm #723724

KeymasterNever been out to Russborough, would love to, but not having a car makes these things difficult.

ParticipantAnything go missing this week? Agree about security, its a crying shame that the place is seen as an easy target. Not quite there on the paintings greg, a good try tho, maybe you should contact the National Gallery and replace all the paintings with copies and give the crims a poke in the eye next time they break in!
