      further to my post titled “how did this get planning”
      i came across this house for sale for €515,000
      its not even detached and where is the front door
      i mean talk about an ugly house
      why are we buying theses houses at extortionate prices
      the developers are the only ones smiling all the way to the bank

      it’s not all bad , the same money is making a restoration of the church at harwicks place possible. granted it could be a lot better.

      Higher property values do indeed provide for higher cost restorations becoming possible and also higher design specs which should in theory permit higher quality design standards.

      However the design quality of a lot of standard suburban estate houses has changed little in the last 20 years despite prices increasing from €50,000 (
