Four consortia have bid for the contract to develop the Digital Hub in the Liberties area of Dublin.
The total estimated cost of the development is €250m, and the Government has already committed €130m to the first phase of the development.
The project aims to regenerate the Liberties district and make it a focal point for development of high technology research and business development.
The short-list of bidders is Digital Developments Ltd, HGB Ascon Ltd, Manor Park Digital Hub Ltd, and a joint venture between Pierse Contract and Earlsfort Centre Developments.
Following a consultation process to choose a preferred bidder for the contract, it is anticipated a detailed planning application will be submitted in September 2003, with construction expected to commence in early 2004.
