ParticipantHi,
I recently graduated with a degree in photography and I’m keen on shooting architecture (amongst other things). I’m currently in the process of building up a portfolio and would be interested in hearing from architects who have projects that have been completed recently or are near completion but have not yet been photographed. Additionally these projects should be either new builds or modern extensions to period structures, commercial, residential or public.
Architectural pieces I have photographed to date can be viewed online at: http://www.peterorourke.com/architecture/
Let me emphasise that I’m looking for the experience here so costs will be zero, or near zero depending on the size of the project. So, if you’ve a unique project and you’re interested in having it photographed please check out my website and get in touch.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post.
All the best,
Peter O’Rourke.

InactiveI think that your offer of no cost will get them listening.
One idea would be to offer an architect with no website a set of good photos of his chosen buildings. (This is not to say that existing firms wouldn’t have work for you — it’s just more rational to try to first sell into where there’s a clear absence.)
He/She’s going to need the website real soon and having the photos ready would make everything so much simpler and cheaper for the web designer.
Obviously, if they need to upgrade the paper porfolio in their office, then they’ll need new photos too.You could use the RIAI page :
http://www.riai.ie/register/the_register_of_architects
and enter the name of your county to find the full list of architects near you. Then using Google and Golden Pages, eliminate the firms with existing websites and work the phones — or maybe better wear out some sole-leather and visit them.
