ParticipantHi all,
I am an avid reader of the forums here which I find very informative and interesting. I have a question if anyone can help. Has anyone here heard of the Irish Building Surveyors Association? There are several members listed in the Golden Pages but no listing for the Association. I am a Chartered Building Surveyor and a potential client recently asked if we were members of this other organisation. The advertisements in the golden pages offer reassurance to lay people seeking surveys of their property that they are engaging a professionally qualified person. My own discrete enquiry to a member firm would have had me believe that they were the Irish equivalent of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors!! Clearly this is grossly misleading.
Has anyone heard of this group or had dealings with members? The quality of service provided cannot be the equivalent of that provided by a fully qualified surveyor, engineer or architect who has spent perhaps 5 years at college with professinal training afterwards
Roll on registration of title for Architects, Building Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors in the new Building Control Act due shortly!

4 Robinhood Park
Dublin 22Formed in 2002 last returns were filed in 2003 – so that may indicate that they have ceased trading.
