InactiveA Garage built in the 1930’s at Cross Guns Bridge in Phibsboro has been put up for auction for ‘redevelopment’. Given the controversy over Archer’s Garage, does anyone think this building warrants preservation?

InactiveI’m familar with this garage as I used to work in Phibsboro and passed it regularly. It’s seems a quite unimpressive and featureless building, but maybe thats because of it’s present condition. Perhaps it could be done up and transformed into car showrooms..ie large open windows installed to display luxury cars or whatever……any way I’ve seen far more impressive structures demolished in recent years that should have been saved. I saw too the proposed plans for Archer’s garage that were refused planning permission. These included appartments too in the complex and seemed quite ‘alright’ filling the site much better than just the odd shaped garage on it’s own.

ParticipantAn interesting potential use but with a poor catchement area, given the site and a fair amount of competition nearby.
It is still vacant and with for sale signs up as of a fortnight ago.
I also saw that Archers 2 is progressing well.
