I’m interested in finding out about the old plan for an Eastern extension of the M7 into Clondalkin that has been deleted from the South Dublin County Council development plan. As far as I know it was to run alongside the Cork railway line and interchange with the M50 (at junction 8) near where the Cloverhill Road crosses it today. There was to be an elevated section, presumably near the interchange. Does anyone know if it was to go further into the the city? There are a couple of linear parks in Cherry Orchard and Ballyfermot that look like they may have been reserved for the mainline and a sliproad.
