I see that the bamboo scaffolding has been erected (by Hong Kong scaffolders) around the former Carlton Cinema as part of an ‘artwork’ installation. Although I have an artistic background myself but I think that the Carlton piece is quite futile in a way as it would have been more appropriate to just get on with the much needed redevelopment of this area which includes the proposed Millinnium Mall.
I’ve seen it at the weekend and I know it’s well meaning and all that but it’s still ridiculous. It’s in place till December too.
Not that I wish to draw surfers away from this site, but…we’ve started a poll on Bamboo Support at http://www.recirca.com/poll/bamboopoll.html . Why not let us know your opinion?
