ParticipantHas anyone seen the new post boxes – elliptical and very slim with little of no adornment…. there’s one on Baggot Street.
I think they look a little odd

ParticipantI’ve seen them and think they’re hideous. Perhaps some-one could post a photo so those not familiar may see them?

InactiveOh boy are they something else. But what about the large new rectangular ones – there’s one at the top of Harcourt Street – looks like a budget “Doctor Who” aliem.

ParticipantI have heard from An Post that they have a policy of replacing all the old Victorian / Edwardian postboxes with these new variants. i think this is quiote sad as the new versions lack any real character. I can understand that the old ones may not suit todays needs and can see that they have tried to be sympathetic with the new designs but in the end they’re just BLAND BORING DESIGNS.

Participantit is a shame to replace the old victorian edwardian post boxes. they have little more character than a trash can. yuck.
