Hi folks
I was wondering if someone might be able to point me in the right direction. I am looking for ideas really for a new house. The style I’m after is I guess 60-70’s influence, with a modern twists and very much eco-friendly. When I google “Modern house design” I keep getting these terrible american styles. Just to help you all out, the link below is something along the lines I’m after.
I am sure there is a collection of images on the net somewhere.

Thanks for help -

Pic 1: Bates Maher
Pic 2: Mies van der Rohe
Pic 3: Shigeru Ban🙂 🙂
Only two of the above are alive, only one is Irish. Might be a good place to start.

There are lots of good architecture firms in Ireland who would fit the bill;
A2 Architects
Boyd Cody Architects
ODOS architects
Boyer Kennihan Architects
Tom de Paor
….. etc.most these firms have websites so you can have a look at their work and see if their work interests you.
Good luck. -

Thanks for the names, I have to say I really liked quite a few of the concepts and finished projects on the various architects web-sites. Google really let me down in my quest for designs to this, but armed with some names, I have found some really good samples of what I’m after.

To be honest, when I seen the link you posted, I thought of Boyd Cody first, they have done a number of similar pieces recently. Try get your hands an and irish architectural awards magazine, it will have a good display of the stuff your after in the residential section.
Regard google and architecture, it can be a pain as most architectural practices use flash based web sites so pics dont show up in search engines too easily and they are hard to link to.

Too much study lately, my brain wasn’t working,
I thought you were refering to the architects and not to ones with i similar style. -

That’s it- just trying to think of parallels as leads. 🙂

What part of the country are you in?
There is a very good exhibition of contemporary architecture in the Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon by several local architects, might be worth a look if your close.
