ParticipantI’m sure someone has thought of these ideas but I would like to have peoples comments…
would you pull down the rail bridge blocking Custom house from O’Connell st bridge?
this would also give you a better view from gardiner st?
Has any one seen heneghan peng’s winning scheme for custom house?

InactiveWhat would you put in place of the bridge, a tunnel? and where would it begin. I think everybody would like to see the bridge remodelled or even demolished but the solution must be a practical one. Ideal world yes demolish, real world no hope.
Where is that south bound broken green line going once it leaves Stephens green?

InactiveI know the problem is diesel trains in tunnels

InactiveI think he meant the line going south east from Stephen’s Green, it seems to meet up with the existing DART line somewhere between Pearse and the next few stations

InactiveIt’s been pointed out in a previous thread that the line is elevated from sandymount to Killester pretty much so it’s not really feasible to just pull it down when you examine all the prioirities re: rail.

Spot on IGY, looks like somewhere after Grand Canal Dock – only curious as have not heard anything about that route and use the Dart along there each day.

InactiveCC it’s because it doesn’t exist, and is not in any plan or strategy. It also makes no sense whatsoever, but none of these threads ever do.

Isn’t that the (rarely used, but existing) Phoenix Park tunnel?

You see Shamrockmetro didn’t realise that such a line existed, and proposed a line that would have run parallel to the original. I was just saying that the proposed line should be ignored.
