      Was lookin’ through an AAI awards book the last day…….can’t remember what year,2000 I think, But anyways, there was a piece in the back about proposals for a new architecture centre to the Arts Plan….. anyone got any info other info on it?….whether they got funding or not?

      No idea…. I think the RIAI got money last year to put up an online architecture gallery…. still hasn’t happened…. wish i could get some to pay the costs of this….

      Well I’ve applied for Arts Council support to allow us to add video etc to the site…. but i’m very doubtful…. as the site gets bigger and busier the server costs are rising….. sponsorship from businesses etc is non-existant…. and its a really grind getting information for features from architects….

      have been trying for weeks now to get info from Benson Forsyth on the new National Gallery extension and from Cork Corporation Architects department on Patrick Street… and no joy at all….

      in real terms (ive calculated this on industry average) it would cost around 50k a year to keep this site going if you were a business and had to pay to maintain it….

      That’s weird………..any normal business would jump at the chance of getting publicity……..architects ………they’re a rare auld bunch!
      50K a year………that’s serious money, you’d never consider shutting up shop though?
      ………..say it ain’t so……

      No intention….. unless it really starts to get difficult to get material…..

      as regards the 50k thats what it would cost someone if they had to pay managers / designers / programmers and writers…. fortunetly i’m all 4……
