Legion Hall saved in Killester (Middle Third)

Following the efforts of several FG councillors, myself, and local residents the council refused the demolition the the British Legion Hall on Middle Third in Killester.

The building obviously looks like nothing specific from the outside, but the interior is interesting and like an old club pavillion, the exterior too would have reflected this, but due to security reasons windows, terrace and awnings and bandstand were removed.

Huge social significance to the area, built by the original residents and many of the same families still in the area. Was centre of the community for years until IRA sorts threaten attendance and branch relocated in the early 70’s, more recently used as community hall and sports hall.
