landscape architecture?

hi there, this is my first post on this forum, I find I get great info on forums so I’m to pick some brains! I am looking for a career change and I’m considering landscape architecture as I think its a good combination of my interest in the natural environment and design. I’m wondering what’s the best approach to take, I’m 30 years old with a mortgage and a full time job so on paper the Masters in Landscape Architecture looks great, two years part time but having spoken to people actually doing the course it doesn’t sound well run. So now I’m wondering if I should do a landscape design course, or horticulture or ?
Any ideas / opinions??
