I’m looking for examples of landmark buildings or projects that have been put on hold in recent months, were denied planning permission or seem to be going nowhere.
      I already have
      Dunner’s Ballsbridge plans
      The Watchtower
Carroll’s Sir John Rogerson’s Quay tower
      The U2 tower

      Any others?
      All help appreciated.

      Hi jdiv,

What about looking at the civic areas that were due for regeneration, but which stalled owing to metro, which may now never be built – such as Parnell Square, Westmorland St?

I think they where hoping to enter as metro north tried to exit.

From the north wall sketches it looks like all these refused buildings have been moved there.

Has any more work been carried out on the site that was due to be the new Anglo-Irish HQ? I haven’t been in Dublin for a couple of months, but the last time I was there it was a half built frame with the gates to the site locked up

The Plans That Crashed To Earth
The Celtic Tiger has come and gone and the skyline of our capital city remains much the same. What happened to the skyscrapers that the ‘starchitects’ were supposed to bring, asks Neil Callanan

The U2 tower had major potential…
You just have to ask your self where is the other part of the star?
