Passed though Killaloe/Ballina at the weekend. Was shocked at the huge amount of suburban housing on the Tipperary side of the Shannon (Ballina). No doubt they’re all commuting to Limerick. But this once beautiful place is in danger (if not already) of being ruined. It looks like the planning in Tipperary is much more lax than in Clare on the other side but of course there should be an agreed plan for the town(s) between both. I mean Tipperary allow all the houses and Clare has to provide extra places in the school (The secondary school is on the other side.
