This demolition is old news, but nonetheless:

So the house is now gone. We could do a pastiche reconstruction… but why wouldn’t the Corpo compulsorily purchase the site (low price because of illegal demolition) and then make some kind of “thing” on the site.

Good for tourism, saves us from another silly pastiche (see the Archers debacle) and best of all…. I think old Jim Joyce would love it!

    Oh I forgot to ask…

Any ideas out there for the “thing”?

A giant pair of green copper spectacles sticking, slightly buried up out of the ground.

And if you like – with excerpts of his writings NEATLY & horizontally cut into them.

Thanks for making a suggestion, John.

My ego would have been permanently damaged (massive psychiatrist bills etc.) if no one had replied.

    You’re a lifesaver. Cheers. Tommy

I know this is a bit off the point, but
is it possible for the Corpo to demand compulsory purchase of a site if it was illegally demolished ?
