Inactivegot a reply from Meath County Council here it is
Yes as you have rightly surmised – this is a protected structure.
Its ID no. MH017-138 on the Record of Protected Structures – described as – Gibbstown Estate – Circular entrance feature. It’s the gates and entrance to the former Gibbstown House, which was a large country house built around 1850, burnt and rebuilt in 1912, and demolished in 1965. The remains were bought for salvage by the monks at Mellifont who intended to reconstruct it, and is reputed to be still in stacks of numbered stones in Collon. There is a very fine set of outbuildings surviving a bit further on down the road. These are protected as well. - September 29, 2009 at 4:25 pm #802968
