ParticipantFirst there are none and then three come together; as well as the TCD science gallery, opening Jan, and the interactive science museum being build at Heuston, something called Imaginosity opened today in Sandyford. Has anyone seen this, the building sounds cool from the website
but they have no pics.
From the website:
Centered within a new residential square, and on the border of a number of well-established neighbourhoods, the museum will serve as a local community resource, through partnerships with local schools, community networks, arts organisations and local councils, and indeed, as a regional and tourist attraction.
The museum is at the centre of a large plaza, overlooked by shops, cafes, multi-story apartment buildings and offices. There is a beautiful reflecting pool underneath the entire building, which is elevated on columns so that views across the plaza are unobstructed. Opportunities for playful discovery, with fountains, a bridge and lights that create a colourful mosaic on the roof above provide enjoyable discovery elements for both visitors to the museum and the broader residential community.

InactiveSome photos of construction here: http://www.factum.co.at/factum/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=11&Itemid=40
And a couple of cladding close-ups here: http://lfblog.wordpress.com/2007/05/25/imaginosity/
Hard to tell much from these. Might pay it a visit over the weekend as it’s near enough to home.
