ParticipantThat by searching using a user a name, my own and some keyword….. I can find my old posts and links much better using the search engine here…. than just by using the regular search engine Paul…. have you noticed this at all.
I had to find an old AMTRAK boss, David Gunn interview at the transitmag.com web site…. and by typing in ‘Gunn’ and ‘garethace’ I was able to pinpoint my original thread no problem.
However, by using the regular search engine…. this was impossible. Interesting isn’t it? I mean, I find ‘the search through all this users posts’ an excellent way to work here at archiseek…. as there is only a handfull of users, whose posts and activity I general track anyhow…. you see.

Keymasterof course it will – its area specific and will take you right to a relevant post – the main search is a broader search that indexes archiseek, archeire and hughpearman.com and is more for people looking for information on buildings or architects
am thinking of indexing a few smaller irish sites with it as well like the riai

ParticipantI’ve seen two web sites upgrade to VB recently, and another one integrate its very own search engine…. it is a very, very, very useful feature I think…. as most questions and queries may have been covered before,… and ten times better often, than just starting a new thread.

ParticipantAh! Now I have got you Paul…. I can now see for the first time ever…. that little ‘search forum’ thing… in tiny grey writing….
As distinct from the bigger searching tool above in the top right corner…. and I understand what you are saying…. it does search all of archeire, and all of the rest… thankyou for the explanation…. even though it took me a couple of days for it to sink in… long weekends. 🙂
