I have been a lurker here for years and years and this is my first (well, this is the second) post I’ve posted but I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all of you.

This site has been in my top 5 visited sites for about 3-4 years now. Fascinating stuff and it’s really brilliant to have so many friendly experts to hand. Keep up the great work!

Very funny…its gas how much mileage people have gotten from Downfall. Poor Adolf!

      Priceless!

Three people in our family would like to tank you for brightening a difficult day.

I cried laughing – well done!

I hope you don’t mind if I spread the word.

      ONQ.

Yeah, but he did slightly bring this on himself.

The irony is that if the Poles had only put up ‘LEFT TURN ONLY’ signs at the border, they could have stopped all this before it began.

Brilliant – a necessary aimed riposte to an unnecessary blanket bombed imposition.
The map viewing bit is very funny indeed.

Nice work David. The ‘nip around Christ Church’ and ‘we’ll get you another turkey’ lines top the poll 😉

I have to say, I have noted no improvement whatsoever in driving habits in the city centre since the speed restriction was introduced. Any driver presented with an open expanse of road and you can forget it. It’s unenforceable.

Seeing as you like the German thing (found it a bit tasteless myself),try this for size.

My missus was drivin through the city centre recently givin out yards as we came up to the 30 km/h zone but then as we hit it and she slowed to show me how ridiculously slow it was she began to change her tune. Honestly we got green lights all the way down Georges St, onto Dame St, up to Christchurch and on up to the Northside. Didn’t have to stop once. May have been fortuitous but it does seem to flow much better.

Needless to say i was pretty smug.

I agree about drivers on open stretches and I feel for the taxi drivers /users.
