ParticipantIt looks a little like a Hobbits house. A bit trivial for a first post…sorry. Just going through all the past posts.

Architects?I doubt that there were architects involved. It really is too ridiculous looking to have been designed by a professional.
Unless you believe that ridiculous = avant garde = good?

InactiveHorrible pile, totally out of context and dominates the road. Those photos show its “best” angle! That house was built by Eddir Irvine. He had it on the market for most of last year at 6.5 with no takers. It it rumoured to have been sold, but I’ve not heard any confirmation. It shares an entrance with Van the Man and Monte Alverno, owners of which all have difficulty in emmmmmm…. relating.. over boundaries, hedges, access, etc. Monte A is currently for sale, belonged to Sir Ed. Carson at one time, more recently by Renata Coleman (who moved from there to Humewood).
Been away, far behind in my archiseek reading.

ParticipantYeah i’v noticed this house alot recently-its a bit of a mixed up style. Aparently as soon as Eddie Irvine seen it complete he hated it and put it straight up for sale-not sue what truth there is in that though.
It really stands out like a sore thumb but at the same time i’d love to see inside and what views it commands because its a decent elevated spot.
Anyone know if an architect was involved or is it something Eddie envisaged from his globe trotting? - May 28, 2007 at 10:34 am #721126

ParticipantThe architect was Joe Kennedy of Smith Kennedy Architects from Dun Laoghaire.
