Georges Street Question

I was wondering could anyone tell me the name or a little about the large redbrick building on Georges Street that houses the Georges St. Arcade and a number of other commercial properties. It looks as if it was once a convent or something such with it’s stained glass windows etc.
This site has several good picutres
I’m just curious as to the history of this building.
