      Hi,
As there appears to be an abundance of work available at present as Cad Technicans / Architectural Techs why might employment agencies relate a situation where Irish Firms are not interested in interviewing / hiring highly qualified foreign nationals? Many seem not even to have the courtesy to respond either way to CV applications.
I know a number of individuals (a couple of whom have left this country despondent having struggled to find employment in their fields) Is Ireland such a closed shop that fully qualified Architects with years of experience in their own countries cannot find even junior positions from which to learn regulations here?
Might any of you here have an opinion or constructive suggestion about this?
I realise that for many positions, it is important to have ‘Irish’ or ‘uk’ experience. Surely though there must be a route into the industry for fully qualified personel with a high standard of English?
      Any thoughts??

cv applications aren’t the way to go. arrive on the doorstep with a folio of work and try to scam your way past the secratary.

when the e-mail inbox of an architect is full to the gills of over-qualified and over-eager individuals, it’s easy to ‘forget’ to reply to them all.

Ok, I can see that being best course of action for anyone, but if agencies are advertising jobs, why will they not interview for them??
