While on my way home last night, I noticed [and not for the first time either] how well the Bank of Ireland in College Green looks at night. Not the main part but the curved screen walls with their blind niches and columns – very dramatic.

It is an amazing thing that we can do this at night, create a completely different building through artifical lighting.

Cinnte , aontaim leat. Fosta bhíodar ag trialeadh na soilse nua ar dhroichead Butt cupla lá o shin. Dhealraigh sé go sar-mhaith eachas an dath ar roghnaíodh fa choinne na mbuttresses – glas geall den sort ‘kelly green’. Giota ro-gheal de mo thuairim.

Right on. The new lights for the various Liffey bridges were also being tested the other night. The ones on Butt Bridge looked particularly good – though I question the choice of colour for the lights on the buttesses. A real bright ‘kelly green’. Simple white light or a very gentle tone tends to look better.
