KeymasterFor those interested, there is a short piece (5pages or so) on the controversy of the building of Busaras in History Ireland magazine, summer issue.
Busaras is 50 this year and we’ll have a new enlarged area on it very shortly.
The article is by some young fella called Paul Clerkin. Dunno him myself.

ParticipantAn interesting read Paul. Political interference seems to be the norm here. When can we expect to see the new information online?

ParticipantA fascinating piece, Paul. Well done.
I was particularly intrigued with the detail of how The Irish Times published an inaccurate mock-up as part of a campaign against Busaras. The newspaper cutting reproduced in History Ireland is quite startling, the Irish Times claimed that Busaras would dominate over the Customs House.
What a con job by the Old Lady of D’Olier Street! Scott should have taken them for millions.

ParticipantWill you be able to post the article? I have ben so busy with work and all that i didnt get a change to go out and get it. Can I ask why you are so fond of Busaras? I think its a fantiatic building (well was, its a bit crappy at the moment) but you seem to be its biggest fan i’d love to know what is about it that you like so much.
