What a brilliant result for Dublin and Ireland. Very low key response on the web site. Strange?

I’m surprised and impressed that a small practice woud invest the time and money in actually visiting the site for a competition with such huge odds. It obviously paid dividends as their entry is apparently the only shortlisted entry to actaully afford views of the pyramids from the internal exhibition space…seems an almost obvious solution that was missed by most. Well done H.P.

Imagine if the Egyptian handlers selected a local firm whose brother in law was the museum’s director. The phrases “third world” and “corrupt” would come to mind.

were they inspired by the Ulster Bank offices on George’s Quay? Dublin’s very own pyramids.

Nice entry for the Eygptian Museum Competition here. Hit speculations, nice drawings anyhow, but I think the concept is similar to what the final winning entry was like. That brief for the Museum must have been huge though. Henigan and Peng must have had to work hard, so the whole thing doesn’t look like some gigantic factory out in the middle of the desert, like a Boeing manufacturing plant or something, which the workers need bicycles to get around!

little do people know that heneghan peng originally worked for EL ARCHITINO on the ejyptian museum competition. but EL ARCHITINO’s ideas scared the youngsters, so the partnership had to be dissolved.
EL ARCHITINO proposed to echo the ejyptians efforts in a contemporay way. by building a pyramid 138 times the size of the great pyramid. this expostion of modern engineering would belittle the pathetic attempts of the ancient civilisation and show that they were not so great after all. the use of ginormously oversized domestic style windows would result in a play on scale, heightening the pitifully undersized “great”pyramids.
the new pyramid would be topped by a christian cross. this, along with a permanent shadow cast over the old pyramids would act as a commentary on the ridiculous practice of worshiping the sun.
EL ARCHITINO predicts that within a few weeks no-one will care about the old pyramids and it could be re used for a television arial. -

What is the purpose of the new pyramid’s windows?

EL ARCHITINO has already made it clear that the sole purpose of these windows is to make the original pyramids seem insignificant in relation to EL ARCHITINO’s great new edifice.
the suggestion that the phenomenally talented EL ARCHITINO would run in a competition alongside plebs like arnold schwartzneeger is liablous. EL ARCHITINO is currently seeking legal advice on whether or not to take legal action on this matter.
