If you’ve access to college libraries Dublin – The Shaping of a Capital by TCD’s Geography guru Andrew McLaran… brilliant book from about 1993

I don’t know of any book or website specifically, but, considering the landbank that they had in the area up until recently, Jurys Doyle may be a handy source. They owned a whole swathe of the place so if you can trace the history of their site and its surroundings then you’d have a fairly large area of reference in Ballsbridge already studied.
Speaking of sites, AIB could give you a few pointers as they had massive site there. In conjunction with the Jurys information then you’d have two big blocs already sorted out. So there you go!
