well yes Diaspora…I did fall out of my pram and as a consequence am blind in one eye and wear a hearing aid.
It took me ten years to finish architecture school, when all around me said I should quit.
But I made it……. only just to be ridiculed by you

Its nice to be able to exchange comments and point of interests as a slight aside to the drudgery of everyday work. Theres only so many specifications i can write and so many hours photoshopping i can slave away at before i need to see something of interest. someone highlighting an interesting building or asking a question, perhaps venturing a point of view for discussion……
your posts are extremely long, laborious and disjointed, making them difficult to read, unrewarding for those who reach the end, and nigh on impossible to reply to with out a hot head or tongue stuck firmly in cheek. your habit of nulling everything you write 5 minutes later is quite annoying too. if its good enough to post, leave it there. just dont leave all 5,000 words of it there. thats an essay, not a post as i see it.
why you and diaspora are getting up on your “everyone hates me” horse i dont know. people are just trying to lighten the tone and kindly point out that in recent times there have been many many many random thoughts expressed incoherently on this forum. its gets trying.

The problem with this forum is that the posts are squashed at the side of the screen. And what would have been one line in a normal forum, appears as 2.5 lines here – so posts appear 2.5 times longer, and this makes people bored and they try to skip lines when reading (at least that’s what I do).
I’m glad other people have noticed that garethace talks nonsense sometimes. But to me, very detailed architecture discussions with strange terminology also sounds like nonsense, and Diaspora is also guilty of philosophizing in each post.
I thought James Joyce was crazy, and he became famous in an “Emperor’s New Clothes” sort of way. But now I realized that this style of writing is comprehensible by some people – and it is an art.
So.. here’s what I remember from the few pages I read of Ulysses – it sounds like something garethace would appreciate:
“Something something Sinbad the Sailor, Tinbad the Tailor, Rinbad the Railer, Minbad the Mailer, Ninbad the Nailer, etc.”
Don’t really have any problem with the forum myself Bulldozer, in fact I think it is structured perfectly for debate. As a consequence is becoming very popular.
If I have a worry it’s that you don’t know who people really are. Iv’e no idea if Diaspora is male or female for example. I mean I think he’s a bloke but I could be standing beside “him” at a bus stop in Dublin and be COMPLETELY unaware.
I mean, I might be almost certain that the goofy guy with the pudding bowl haircut, Kylie T shirt and dog eared copy of The Return of the King tucked under his arm is Diaspora but I would really never know. It’s a bit disconcerting, I find 😉

It’s called Hiberno-English and like all dialects it can be a little difficult to pick up. But it must surely be better than this one world junk that doing the rounds courtesy of ‘Freinds’ etc
Alan I am a 30 something male, the last dodgy haircut I had cost $0.80c and was a blade 3 all-over. As for Kylie never liked her The Reynolds girls were my Pete Waterman favourites. 😀
