Hello I am researching the ceiling of the drawing room in the now demolished house in St. Anne’s Park in Clontarf/Raheny which belonged to Benjamin Lee Guinness and then his son Lord Ardilaun. I have a couple of images of the ceiling but not all of the details are clear:

Does anyone know of a similar ceiling design that still exists anywhere in Ireland?
Looking through a number of numbers the only ceiling I can find that resembles it at all is the library at Baron’s Court which was designed by William Morris and the resemblance is fairly slight.

I am working on art project that involves making a 2-dimensional plan of the plasterwork as the basis for a temporary flower bed on the site. I have mapped out the basic structure but I am having particular difficulty in making sense of the area around the apse and interpreting in in two dimensions. I can’t tell if the wall on either side of the apse is curved like the side walls or flat. Can anyone advise me on this or direct me to where I could see something similar?

Have you visited the Irish Architectural archive on Merrion Sq?

No harm in broadening the search as if the archive has nothing and if there is any link to the Iveagh Estate; it is possible that they may have commisioned something similar in London or further away as well when a particular style was in vogue.

Yes I’ve been to the archive and looked at all the material they have on the house thanks.
