InactiveNever heard of them but a lot of companies do the different colours on PVC.
it can look shite so pick carefully. don’t just see a sample actually go to a place where they have put them in and see for yourself… - July 14, 2007 at 10:44 am #790308

InactiveI phoned prism windows ltd, and they sent a sales rep out the next day. This is what I found out.
They do all types of pvc windows and doors, from white/ wood grain to any colour you want.
He showed me a house they had done in red on the outside, and cream on the inside and it looked
really well. It stood out from the dark green houses around it.
He showed me a sample of a light oak on the outside, and off white on the inside, and a black / cream
window which I liked as im going for a stone front to my house.
Also they guarantee the glass, paint, windows, and handles for 10 years which im well impressed with.
I got a quote from them that was pretty good, but Im going to have a look around to see if somebody
can match their windows but who give a better price.
Thanks for your advise Fin.:) - November 7, 2007 at 1:44 pm #790309

Inactivejust an update on my windows. I spent a lot of time finding out about uPVC windows coloured and standard. well let me tell you it was hell. some of the compaines act like they dont want your business, and you would be lucky to even get a quote. so im going to name and shame and praise the few who where a great help, because I know im not alone on this subject. O Gradys: good sales man but not the best window.
O Hallorans: good service , helpful. General Aluminium, outdated windows. Senator: good, very expenisve.
Window and roofing: coloured windows, very poor feadback, expenisve.
G & R windows. good, helpful. Prism Windows ltd: coloured windows, good feedback.
Dalgan windows: not the best window, poor sales men. And of course Munster joinery, need I say more?
Now the above companies are in the west of Ireland so I can only speak for that area. I wont say where I got my windows from but they are coloured. So it pays to shop around and I hope this helps. - November 7, 2007 at 5:15 pm #790310

Inactivei think i remember reading a post here a while back that had a link to a report which had some pretty damning evidence on the noxious gases that upvc windows emit over time. have you done any research into this before deciding to use upvc? a friend of mine has a company which installs upvc windows in houses yet he doesnt have them in his own house! and its not like he can’t afford it.
