ParticipantThe National Capital Authority, on behalf of the Australian Government, invites professional landscape architects, architects and urban planners, to participate in a competition for a schematic master plan to revitalise one of the principal parklands in the centre of Canberra.
The Canberra Central Parklands Competition offers entrants the opportunity to contribute to a city whose prime generator has been the natural landscape.
The Parklands are important as part of Walter Burley and Marion Mahony Griffin’s winning entry in the 1911-1912 international competition for the design of the Australian Federal Capital. They are also important to the future of Canberra as the major urban parklands for an expanding city centre and as a civic focus for national celebration and commemoration.
