ParticipantFrom the Sunday Times article on Busarus:
“Paul Clerkin, the acknowledged expert on Busarus”
Any relation?
What was the rest of the building originally used for by the way, was it offices?

ParticipantI believe that its the same Paul alright.
Originally was intended to be a HQ for CIE, but then after escalating costs, was annexed for the Department of Social Welfare and a proposed women’s dole office. I believe Flann O’Brien made comments about it being known as a bust station if that came to pass.

Keymasterahem… yes… that may be me ok….
MG is correct okay on the uses. I’m currently writing an article for an Irish magazine on the controversy to its building. When its published I will finally publish my entire thesis here on the site….. 80,000 odd words and several hundred illustrations…..

But you know the joke about bus station articles – you wait all day and then three come along together!
