ParticipantDoes anyone know of a photograph or drawing, showing one of the coats of arms on St George’s Market with a Gaelic motto? (Not one of the ones with the Latin motto, thanks.)
They are badly worn now (after c110 years), and also difficult to photograph from ground level (which is where I live).
As far as I can see, the central archway of the three on the north side (May Street) and the central one of the three on the south side (East Bridge Street) are the ones with the Gaelic mottos.
I’d really appreciate even a reference to a published photo or drawing.

ParticipantThe market was restored in the late ’90s by Belfast City Council and Consarc Conservation. According to the RSUA Design Award citation, 2000, the work involved “the precise restoration of all extternal detailing.” Consarc must have the info you are seeking. Why not contact them directly?
