I have to do a college project on Bauhaus architecture. I chose the topic because what was described as a fine example of Bauhaus and one of the last in Ireland is being knocked down. It is in Castleknock, Dublin and the controversy really centred around the fact that the knocking down this house and the construction of an estate with over 200 houses and apartment blocks etc in its place was refused planning permission but An Bord Pleanana later overturned that decision.
What I’m really looking for is information on Bauhaus architecture in general but especially any examples there may be in Ireland.
      Thanks.

I think the Thames and Hudson series are brilliant value… you can get a good selection in most bookshops – this is 7.95 sterling

What is the name of the house in Castlenock which is being knocked down? Is it about to happen or are people making an effort to save it?

Try the docomomo website. It is an international webpage on the modern movement.
