ParticipantHello forum,
I’d like to make an architectural model of a workshop I’m building to inform design decisions try and assess some of the difficulties I may encounter.
Can anyone recommend an introductory text for model making or recommend an Irish or online supplier of the equipment and materials necessary.
Cheers

InactiveO’Sullivans on Camden St, Kennedy’s on Harcourt St or Evans’ off Capel St should supply all your model making needs. I wouldn’t recomend any texts, just get in there, experience is the only way of learning.
General tips, use a scalpel or light craft knife with snap off blades, not a stanley or workman’s knife, and change the blade regularly! Use steel ruler, woodglue, if your are patient, bostik if not, never use superglue.
Look at some architects websites for model photos, A2 architects, Boyd Coady and Donaghy Dimond all make nice models, and have plenty of shots on their sites. - March 6, 2009 at 1:45 pm #806391
