KeymasterArchitectural flair makes Dermot our stylish man
A DUBLIN architect was yesterday named Ireland’s most stylish man.
Dermot Boyd’s sartorial elegance won him the Louis Latour “May of Style” award in Dublin. But the Dubliner said his health is the most important thing in life.
Dermot, from Rathmines, also likes a bit of style when it comes to travel and says Vienna is his favourite city for its “melancholy and beauty”.
But his all-consuming passion is the study and practice of architecture.
The Louis Latour award is sponsored by French wine makers Maison Louis Latour and the top award was presented to the Dubliner by the wine supremo who flew in from Burgundy for the event.
Over the past few weeks, men from all over the country were nominated for the final held last night in the Merrion Hotel.
The judging panel included Cathy Reynolds, Louis Copeland and Gerald Heffernan of Frontier Films, who made their decision following a round of interviews with each finalist.
Dermot also wins an all-expenses paid trip for himself and a guest to the beautiful village of Beaune in the Burgundy region of France.
They will travel first class to Paris, where they will stay for two nights before moving on to their five-star accommodation in Beaune.
Dermot will have €1,000 spending money and will have the opportunity to tour the Louis Latour estate and taste the fruits of one of the finest wine producing regions.
