We have been working with an architect to do outline plans for a house extension with the view to submitting for planning permission. This phase has been completed and the planning has been submitted. Unfortunately the architect will not be able to continue with us to complete final plans and get builders and complete build.

Any advice on how best to proceed? Any recommendations on architects in Dublin who could take on the project?

I can arrange a builder and architect for you – where are you based and what architect did you recently employ?

Depends on what you are looking to do. If you wish to get the place overhauled you would probably call in an electrician for the wiring and for repair work you’d call a builder, plumber for plimbingetc. – you could also get an interior designer to re-plan the house and work on the finishes etc. you might require (styles, furniture etc.)

Hi, probably didn’t make myself clear. If you are looking into buying a second hand old property and you want to get someone in to look at the place generally ,,,,,,,did it before but forget what you call them. ?

You could use an architect or some other suitable qualified person as a surveyor to check for major defects in an old property. They should also be able to give you a guideline as to how much it could cost to put right.

I would have thought that you are just looking for a general syurvey. I have heard good things about Paul Boylan who apparantly had a particular interest in period properties.
      No personal knowledge of him
