ParticipantThis tiny snip is taken from one of fjp’s photos here. The Central Bank is behind another new looking building. I’m sure I’ve seen this, but I can’t place it. Since the photo is taken from Dundrum, I guess we’re looking at Rathmines or its environs.

ParticipantThanks – that’s just down the road from where I work (Harold’s Cross Bridge) so I recognise the shape, but from the other direction.
The building only looks about 8 or 9 stories tall, but dominates that area from afar. Is the ground particularly high there? - November 19, 2002 at 9:17 am #722773

ParticipantWow – that was built in 62/64??? I never knew it was that old. It’s aged fantastically!!!
The building only dominates from afar. You don’t really see it until you’re a bridge away on the canal (and the tall houses of Rathmines/Ranelagh block it from other directions).
To continue this theme of deceptively tall buildings, here’s the Central Bank with the ground sloping away from it. Looks short from the south, looks tall from the north.
