For years now when in Dublin I have been making my way up North Frederick Street (and down) at least four times daily, and am intrigued by number 30. ‘An Stad’ B&B limply dangles outside. Not for reasons of aesthetics, urban landscape etc. although they do concern me, but in this instance my concerns are more socio-economic. Who lives in such squalor, and who is making money out of it?
The building next to it seems to be getting some very minor cosmetic retouches (as in glass, light bulbs) but it too has a sort of a fishy air to it.
It does seem strange that Dublin City Council has never intervened. I hope some of you could fill me in.
