There is going to be an “unnofficial” (as in not the big bash with the book launch) announcement of the results of this year’s AAI awards this evening (09th Nov 2007) about 7pm in a space on Cow’s Lane, Temple Bar. Rumour has it that there will be some free wine and the entries will be on display.

How very artsy of them to liberate architecture from the confines of a lecture hall and bring it to the masses and in the process bring wine to the homeless.

I presume this is in that exhibition hall in the old church that has the renewable energy / hippie shop also?
I can’t for the life of me think what it’s called but I was at an art exhibition there once.

No it’s in a disused shop on cow’s lane, i think it used to be Design Yard hippie shop.

No homeless people will be allowed in but those dressed in the vouge of homless people, draped in pre-stressed vintage wear and un shaven will be alowed. The AAI will distinguish by looking in your wallet

Think that would be an invasion of privacy.

They’ll probably draw the line by just looking AT your wallet, to ensure that you actually have one. The fact that it may be empty doesn’t really prove whether you’re in the construction industry or not these days…

Luckily today was Formal Friday and I wore my Mrs Quinns charity shop suit, which makes me look like a homeless person because its far too big for me and I use twine to keep it up.

      Seriously.

Mrs Quin (with one n doncha know) is building up quite an empire for herself isn’t she? Cropping up about the city left, right and centre she is.

Initially I read that as being An Taisce, which interestingly makes equally logical sense.

A pschologist may suggest that that says many things about you, obsession, and a society dedicated to the preservation of irelands heritage…

I think a resurrection of !!!JOKE ALERT!!! is in order here. Not that it would be needed were people less hasty in their assumptions.

Hope it was a good night for those who tagged along. Cork IT is the highlight for me.

The only building that I recognised was the extension to the city hall in Cork

I gathered that there was a buiilding fron the Mary Immaculate college in Limerick in there too.

Other than that I don’t know. None of the entries had any tags saying what they were.
