55 Aungier Street, Avalon House

We are trying to find as much information as possible on the history of this building. We have the basics – that it was built as the Carmichael school of medicine in 1879. It was used as a Cork factory at some stage during the 1920’s we think. Prior to it’s construction the site was a school which G.B. Shaw attended. It has been a hostel for the last 15 years. HAs anyone got any suggestions where we can comprehensively fill in the gaps in it’s history? I would be extremely grateful for any help with this
