Just to clarify any misunderstandings on the Digital hub
Dublin Digital Hub wins games jobs
April 12, 2005 12:48
Canadian games company DC Studios is to set up a development studio in Dublin’s Digital Hub, backed by IDA Ireland.
DC develops video games for consoles, PCs and mobile phones. The jobs will be for graduates, including software programmers, artists, designers and producers.
‘The digital media sector has been identified as an area of opportunity for this country and DC Studios, a young ambitious company, will be a valued addition to the growing cluster of digital media activities in Ireland, in particular games development,’ said Enterprise, Trade & Employment Minister Micheal Martin.
DC Studios said its decision to locate in Dublin was in response to substantial growth in its business, with many of its customers based in Europe. Ends
Now whether it is any more than two developers, a receptionist and a security gaurd I can’t clarify. The Digital Hub is a project I would like to see succeed as it is not only at the cutting edge but also has certain sub-cultural qualities.
The remaining issues on this thread are probably the main reasons why the Hub has been so slow to kick off.
