Agreed, I think the character will be altered rather than damaged.I’m willing to bet that just like Stillorgan Park bypass, the new road will improve life in the immediate vicinity and on Stradbrook Road which does have houses fronting a very heavily trafficked road.

Regarding your diagram, that is presumably why heavily trafficked distributor roads such as this one are designed without houses fronting them.
