Demolished. “This block of buildings, the first section of which is now in course of erection, will occupy the site of the society’s existing premises in Sidwell-street, and that of the adjoining property recently acquired in York Road. The buildings (comprise, on the ground floor, three shops with public offices and ware-rooms behind. On the first floor, show-rooms, class and committee-rooms, with secretary’s offices adjoining. On the second floor there is a large assembly-hall with an open-timbered roof. The corridors and staircases are of fireproof construction.”
