Large Georgian house with a polygonal central bay and curved bows to the ends of the wings. Now a ruin, after being used as the General Headquarters for the Irish Free State forces in Donegal during the Civil War.
Built by the Londonderry & Lough Swilly Railway Company as part of the Buncrana to Carndonagh section of the narrow gauge railway line which opened on the 1st of July 1901 and closed in December 1935.
Designed by William Hague & completed under supervision of T.F. McNamara in a Victorian neo-Gothic style on a site overlooking the town.
Built to replace a church of the 1780s, McIntyre ‘took the design from Vincent Craig’s First Presbyterian Church at Omagh’.
The St. Mary’s Hall was completed 1904 for concerts and assemblies and also contained a billiard hall.
Probably designed by T.F. McNamara, former partner of William Hague, who completed the nearby cathedral after Hague’s death;
Odd castle-like school by T.F. McNamara, who had recently completed Hague’s cathedral in the town, when he was commissioned.
Presbyterian church originally built to seat 782. The foundation stone was laid 3 Aug 1906 by Lt Col John Campbell Fullerton with the final cost approx.
Constructed in 1905-08 to replace an earlier thatched-roof church building. The centenary of the present meetinghouse was celebrated by the congregation in April 2006,
