Armagh Planetarium was first proposed in 1943 and the Armagh observatory team worked towards its realisation for over two decades.
Constructed in the new planned town of Craigavon in the 1970s, this is a good example of the brutalist architecture of the period.
This was an unplaced entry in the Armagh Marketplace Theatre Competition. The semi industrial nature of the auditorium is wrapped in a warm brick exterior shell containing all of the associated uses;
