This is one of the oldest running food markets in Europe,
Gaudí’s patron Eusebi Güell wished to develop a garden city of around fifty houses here and commissioned Gaudi to work on the project.
Constructed between 1913 and 1915,
A large building with three central aisles with two large lateral awnings that were built in a later expansion.
Built as offices for La Caixa de Pensions,
The most prominent of the buildings at the Plaza de Cibeles is the Palacio de Comunicaciones.
