This Roman Catholic church took some time to be completed –

A sketch design for a new National Concert Hall on the quays near the Four Courts.
Sited on a hill surrounded by a drained lough and now a bog,
Surviving west gable of the 12th-century Romanesque church in Roscrea. This church was in use until 1812 when most of it was demolished with the exception of this gable.
A stone church has stood here since around 1044. A fine Romanesque doorway in the oldest part of this church which was completed in 1158 by Auliff Mor na Cuimsionach.
Fine Gothic oratory constructed in the grounds of a convent.
