Construction started in 1931 on this Irish-Romanesque church to designs by Ralph Henry Byrne (1877-1946) and it was built between 1931 and 1935.
A subtle exercise in a stripped back Classical style with hints of Art Deco and Georgian glazing.
Known as the Metropole Building. A fine building in the Art Deco style and which addresses a corner very successfully.
